Blackfoot is a small community located
centrally between two of Idahos largest cities, Pocatello and Idaho
Falls. In Blackfoot you will find a perfect atmosphere
to conduct business, raise your family, and enjoy numerous recreational
activities.
Blackfoot is known as the Potato Capital of
the World. Blackfoot and
Bingham County are rooted in agriculture. The county harvests more
potatoes than any other county in the United States. The potatoes that are harvested help
supply two of Blackfoots largest employers, Basic American Foods and
Nonpareil with their needed product. Area residents have access have access to
wonderful medical services.
Bingham Memorial Hospital has a wonderful medical staff and offers
a full range of inpatient and outpatient services. There are two medical clinics, the
Blackfoot Medical Clinic and the Mountain River Medical Clinic. There is also State Hospital South
Hospital that specializes in treatment programs for persons with emotional
disorders or the mentally ill.
There are
also many dental professionals to choose from in the community.

There are wonderful educational
opportunities in the community.
Blackfoot is only 38 miles from Idaho State University
and 61 miles from BYU
Idaho.

Blackfoot community swimming
pool is and indoor pool and is opened year round. It offers swimming lessons,
water aerobics and scuba lessons. |
Blackfoot Golf Course has
18 holes and is rated among the top five courses in Idaho. The course is the site
of several major state golf tournaments throughout the
year. |
Jensen
Grove is a wonderful place to spend a day. There is a beautiful
grove of cottonwood trees to spend some time having a picnic in the shade,
A disk golf course, a large picnic shelter for family reunions, business
parties, or community events.
Playground equipment, a skate board park and an ice skating ring
provides hours of fun and entertainment for the children. A wonderful feature of Jensen
Grove is the Jensen Lake which provides water for all types of summer fun,
including swimming, water skiing, boating and jet skiing. There is also a wonderful walking
path around the lake for those who want to walk, bike or roller blade for
exercise.

big activities throughout the year.

Blackfoot Pride Days is
held in June each year.
Pride Days is a wonderful community celebration with fun
activities for all ages.
There are activities like a car show, a potato feed, golf
tournament, craft fair, air show. This event usually last for
3 days and is packed with fun activities. |
In September Blackfoot
Hosts the Eastern
Idaho State Fair. The fair begins Labor Day
weekend and more than 200,000 people attend each year. The fair offers horse
racing, rodeos, a demolition derby, a tractor pull, and live
entertainment by some of the hottest entertainers. There are exciting carnival
rides, delicious foods, and local entertainers sharing their talents
throughout the week. |
There are many community events held through the year
as well, such as Winter fest, the Mayors Ball, An Easter
egg hunt, a wonderful 4th of July
celebration with fireworks, community players productions, Christmas Tree
Fantasy, Community Live Nativity and much- much
more.
